Summer Camp

Super Summer! Super Kids! Super Adventure!

Chinese Immersion Summer Camps for Children Ages 5-11

YCIS Silicon Valley's Summer Camps offer a fun, educational Chinese immersion program designed to keep young minds and bodies active in the warm summer months. Our Chinese language teachers create unique thematic learning experiences to cater to all levels of Chinese language ability – for students just beginning to learn Mandarin to native speakers.

Campers explore creative, hands-on activities while building vocabulary, confidence in speaking, and cultural awareness with arts and crafts, drama, music, sports, science, cooking, building, language arts, and more! Projects and talents are showcased in a grand finale performance and exhibition at the end of each session – all in Chinese!

Summer Camp 2016 – Three Sessions from June 13–July 22, 2016

Amusement Park Adventure (June 13–24, 2016)
Every child dreams to live in a fantasyland, experiencing the life of cartoon characters. Here, students will use their imaginations to build a magical theme park together! They will make models of their favorite rides and characters with clay, paper, food and other media, and will present their fairy tale land in the final exhibition and musical performance.

Race to the Olympics! (June 27–July 8, 2016 – No camp on July 4)
Let’s warm up for the Rio 2016 Olympics! Students will create a mock Olympics with sport games, arts and crafts and foods. They will even do a news report. On the last day of camp, we will have a track competition and closing ceremony on the field! Parents are welcome to join a relay race.

Rocking the Stage (July 11–22, 2016)
East Meets West: Kung Fu with Disco, Chinese Opera with Hip Hop, Allegro with Rap, Chinese Folk Songs with Pop. When they hit the stage, we rock! Campers will write their own raps, create their own stage look, design stage props and rock the house in a grand finale.
