Fifth grade students enthusiastically explored science at Walden West this week. The Outdoor Science School has nurtured children’s curiosity about environmental science through their residential camp experience for many years.  Our fifth graders loved exploring an outdoor classroom with experienced naturalists digging in to hands-on science projects, hiking through the woods to observe the wonders of nature and bonding with each other through songs, games and other social activities. Coming back exhausted but happy, the students gained independence staying away from home for a few days, developed their sense of personal responsibility and deepened their understanding of the natural world around them.
